The Ruddy Quail-Dove is a warmly colored, ground-foraging dove of tropical forests. In the US it occurs rarely in the Florida Keys and is resident in Puerto Rico. The rufous upperparts, buff face stripe, and plump quail-like shape are distinctive. It is secretive and walks quietly through shaded forest floors.
