The Crevice Weaver Spider builds distinctive flat, sheet-like webs with a tubular retreat at the center in rock crevices, wall cracks, and building corners. It rarely leaves its silken tunnel and waits for prey to blunder onto the sheet. It is widespread in the southern US and around human structures. Its dense, fluffy webs are very different from the orb webs of garden spiders.
