The Eastern Tailed-Blue is a tiny butterfly with distinctive small tails on its hindwings and orange spots near the tail base, resembling a miniature swallowtail. Males are bright blue above while females are largely gray-brown. It can produce up to three broods per year and is a familiar sight in clover-filled lawns and disturbed fields.
