The Olympia Marble is a lovely, crisp-white butterfly with intricate yellow-green marbling on the hindwing underside that perfectly mimics the flowers it rests among. It is a single-brooded spring butterfly restricted to open calcareous habitats. It has a limited but curious range, with disjunct populations in the Appalachians and eastern Great Plains.

Open sandy barrens, limestone glades, and dry prairies
Diet
Larvae: rock cress and other mustard family plants. Adults: nectar from spring flowers
