The Mimic White (Enantia albania) is a tropical butterfly that mimics unpalatable Heliconius butterflies in vivid orange and black. It is an extremely rare stray into southern Texas. This is a classic example of Batesian mimicry — the edible mimic gaining protection by resembling a toxic model. Its wing pattern is strikingly different from its close white butterfly relatives.
