English Hawthorn is a thorny shrub or small tree introduced from Europe that has naturalized in many parts of North America. Its white spring flowers attract bees and flies, and its red berries (haws) are an important fall and winter food for many birds. Though non-native, it supports significant wildlife in disturbed habitats.
