Eastern Red Columbine is a graceful wildflower with nodding red-and-yellow flowers whose long nectar spurs are perfectly matched to the bill of the ruby-throated hummingbird. It grows on rocky ledges, cliffs, and open woods from Canada to the Gulf Coast. Columbine is also visited by bumblebees that 'rob' nectar by puncturing the spur.
