Purple-stemmed Angelica is a tall, robust wildflower of wetlands and stream corridors, reaching heights of 6–9 feet with striking purple stems and large compound leaves. Its flat-topped white flower clusters are visited by hundreds of insect species including many specialist bees. The hollow stems are used by cavity-nesting solitary bees.
