Hoary Vervain is a tall native wildflower of dry prairies and roadsides across the Great Plains and Midwest, covered in soft white hairs that give it a 'hoary' appearance. Its long spikes of small purple flowers bloom from June through September. It is a valuable nectar plant for many native bees, especially long-tongued bees that can reach the nectar in the tubular flowers.
