The Lesser Yellowlegs is a smaller, slimmer version of the Greater Yellowlegs, best distinguished by its straighter, shorter bill (barely longer than the head) and a two-note 'tew-tew' call. Both species are common migrants, often seen together at mudflats and marshes where their size difference becomes apparent. The Lesser is more numerous and wide-ranging during migration.
