Gray Goldenrod is a native wildflower of dry, open, and often infertile habitats, including sandy soils, rocky hillsides, and roadsides across eastern and central North America. It is one of the most drought-tolerant goldenrods and often one of the last wildflowers blooming in fall. Goldenrods as a group support more than 300 specialist insect species.
