Live Oak is the iconic evergreen oak of the American South, forming massive, wide-spreading trees draped in Spanish moss along coastal plain forests and barrier islands. It produces abundant small acorns highly prized by wood ducks, blue jays, raccoons, and deer. It is one of the most important wildlife trees in the Southeast and is the state tree of Georgia.
