The Cecropia Silkmoth is North America's largest native moth, with a wingspan that can exceed 6 inches, and wings adorned with red, white, and brown bands and crescent-shaped spots. Adults do not feed at all, living only to reproduce during their brief two-week lifespan. The massive green caterpillar is decorated with yellow, red, and blue knobbed tubercles.
