Nebraska Sedge is a robust, rhizomatous sedge native to moist meadows, stream banks, and wet mountain valleys across western North America. Growing 1–3 feet tall with wide, strap-like blue-green leaves, it forms dense, sod-like colonies. It is an important component of montane riparian meadows in the Rocky Mountains and Sierra Nevada and provides critical forage for elk, cattle, and deer. Nebraska Sedge is widely used in riparian restoration projects across the West.
