Rawson's Metalmark is a small, warm orange-brown butterfly with intricate metallic spots forming two bands across its wings. It is found in arid hillside habitats in Texas and Mexico. Adults are alert and fast, perching on plants with wings spread flat. Multiple broods occur from spring through fall in its southern range.
