Field Pussytoes is a small native wildflower named for its fluffy white flower clusters that resemble cat's toes. It forms mats in open, dry habitats including meadows, roadsides, and rocky barrens. It is a larval host plant for the American painted lady butterfly, which is one of the most important ecological roles of this modest plant.
